SUSAN ROSSI (FIRST SPEAKER)
The DIA Queensland gave Susan a very difficult topic to present: ”What are you worth in the industry?”. Susan will present an approach from a commercial manager perspective: discussing the topics of bench marking, employment expectations, and salary renumeration attached to performance, experience, and employee expectations related to the market cycles.
Susan Rossi is one of Queensland’s most eminent Designers. Her experience is in excess of 25 years. Susan is a qualified Architect (AIA) and a Fellow of the DIA. Susan is the Director of Interiors at DBI, one of the largest multi disciplinary practices in Australia. Susan has been at the forefront in hotel and residential design both here in Australia and abroad. Some of Susan’s notable accomplishments includes the development of the Sheraton Mirages within Australia, the development of the first fashion and design hotel internationally: Palazzo Versace and now presently delivering the interior design of one of the largest interior design hotel and apartments developments in the world within the United Arab Emirates: Eithad Towers. Her extensive knowledge as a design professional in the fields of hotel, resort and multi-residential design makes Susan a leader within her field.
KIERON GAIT (SECOND SPEAKER
Kieron Gait was an Associate at Richard Kirk Architect until March 2008, when he decided to fly solo and began his own practice, Kieron Gait Architects. He will discuss his experiences in establishing a small practice with an unusual project – a resort in Cambodia. Keiron will discuss his experience in striving to achieve what his services are worth in a global market and how the practice is aiming to establish and place itself locally.
