SHELDON LIEBERMAN - The benefits of Insanity
The pains and rewards of experimentation, and how it has benefited Bigfish's reputation and bottom line.
Sheldon Lieberman is the owner of Bigfish, a Brisbane design company who's irreverent and occasionally insane work is quickly spreading around the globe. Design company, agency, Web Company, animation house, Production Company, content creator? However you describe them, Bigfish is making people laugh, cry and occasionally stare in horror.
Over the last year Bigfish has won two Gold's at BAD, a Gold at DIA for their work for a strip club, produced a series for ABC 3, screened animations at festivals in Ottawa, Stuttgart, London and Brazil, and recently won best animation at Tropfest.

Pimps, hoes and stolen cars – Ctrl –Alt – Del! Can today's breed of opportunistic game designers transform the computer game playing field for the greater good?
Morgan Jaffit is one of the founders of Defiant Development, an independent game developer focused on creating innovative titles for next generation platforms. He has been designing games all his life. Morgan's first computer game design was an educationally focused biology challenge for the Atari ST at the age of 13. He has been working as a professional game designer for the past ten years and has shipped a wide variety of games for a broad spectrum of audiences including: Happy Feet, Freedom Force and Homeworld 2. Morgan has been involved providing his game design experience to a wide range of projects developed in Australia, including serious games, film adaptations, and the development of new Transmedia IP.
He is convinced that the game industry is the most exciting place in the world to be, at least partially because it's filled with crazy people on the frontier of creativity. Morgan has lectured internationally on topics such as the game design process and creative team leadership.
