FORM works to identify opportunities for the creative sector to fulfil its potential in commercial as well as artistic terms.

FORM has links with the Government of Western Australia through the Departments of Culture and the Arts, Industry and Resources, Local Government and Regional Development, and Education and Training, as well as the Ministries for Forestry and the Environment. FORM receives core funding from ArtsWA.

FORM receives both core and special project funding from the Australia Council and its Visual Arts and Crafts Board.

ACUADS is a representative discipline body of university visual arts, crafts and design faculties. Established in 1981 as the National Conference of Heads of Arts and Design Schools (NCHADS) as an association of heads departments, schools and colleges of art and design. NCHADS provided support and direction to the development of art and design education in Australia for more than ten years. Name changed to ACUADS in 1994. ACUADS represents over thirty Australian university art and design faculties, schools and departments and other academic units offering university degrees at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in art, craft and design.

The Australia Council's primary responsibility is to help create an environment which encourages the creativity and development of Australian artists, and which provides greater access to arts and cultural activities for all Australians. Comes under DCITA portfolio.The Australia Council was formed as an interim Council in 1973 and was given statutory authority by the Australia Council Act 1975. It replaced an earlier, non-statutory, body the Australian Council for the Arts established in 1968 as a division of the Prime Minister's Department. The Council subsumed other arts-related government functions, such as the Commonwealth Literary Fund, which had supported needy writers since 1908, and the Commonwealth Art Advisory Board, which was set up in 1912 to develop a national art collection and, from 1927, to advise on matters relating to the visual arts.

designEX is a showcase for products and services for residential and commercial interior designers and architects. It attracts an attendance of more than 16,500 design professionals from Australia, New Zealand and the Asia Pacific region. The exhibition emphasises new product releases and design excellence and provides the opportunity to discover all the latest developments for interior design and architecture in one location. designEX began in Melbourne in 1989 and was first held in Sydney in 1995. It now alternates between the two cities, even years held in Sydney and odd years in Melbourne. In 2000, lightEX, the official trade show of the Illuminating Engineering Society of Australia and New Zealand, co-located with designEX. Last year COMFIA, the official exhibition of the Commercial Furniture Industry Association of Australia joined the team. designEX is owned by DMG World Media. designEX is endorsed by the DIA.

The SIDA Foundation is a trust formed to further the interests of the interior design and interior decoration professions. Following unification with the DIA, SIDA resolved to retain its financial assets and to convert its corporate structure into a foundation. It uses its funds to further develop the knowledge, skills and ethics of interior designers and decorators. It does this by grants to institutions and other bodies.

AGIdeas is run by the Design Foundation with support from Alliance Graphique Internationale and its members. The Design Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation established to encourage excellence in design by supporting, promoting and enhancing the professional development of young designers. The event is organised by a committee of young designers under the aegis of Ken Cato. The committee provides a core group of students each year with an exceptional opportunity to develop the skills necessary to stage a world class design event. These young people act as ambassadors to visiting designers and establish networks around the world from which many have gained employment and work experience.
